Homeopathy in English, French and Hungarian.
I am being asked what is it like to look after my patients in three different languages. Apart from English, also in Hungarian and French, and if I actually alter my approach accordingly.
The fact is that it’s not just about languages. It’s much more about understanding the ethnicity of a person.
Although I lived in England most of my life, but I also lived in Hungary, as well as in France, long enough, sufficiently long enough, to actually have an innate understanding what is it like to be Hungarian or French.
The cultural nuances, the peculiarities of each nation, to understand that, that’s what really matters.
That’s what is important. As a consequence, my Hungarian or French patients feel more at ease. They can relate to me. And they know that there will be a core understanding of them, and their complaints on offer.
